Discover Platinum Gas Card for Simple Rewards

If you like to keep your card to simple, cash reward benefits, then the Discover Platinum Gas Card from Morgan Stanley may just be for you. Benefits are straight up cash rebates for a variety of purchases, not the least of which is gasoline. Consider the rewards and how you earn them and you will see that this may be the right card for you.

For general purchases you will earn a 1% rebate. If you purchase at a warehouse club or discount store, you earn .25% if you spend up to $1500. If you spend from $1500 to $3000, you will earn a .5% rebate, and if you spend more than that, you get a full 1% rebate like on other general purchases.

The real benefit of this card is in gasoline purchases. For those, you will earn a rebate of 5% if you spend less up to $1,200. Going up, you can get a 1% rebate if you spend over $3,000 in gasoline. This variable rate, though, means that there is no maximum you can earn in terms of gas rebates. Those rebates also do not expire as long as you keep the account active within a 36 month period of time.

Couple all these rebates with 0% introductory rates for 12 months. The everyday APR for the card can be low, but how low is determined by the applicant’s credit rating. So, if you like rebates, low rates, and a simple card, then the Discover Platinum Gas Card is certainly worth a look for you.
